What facilities do I need to manage my business?
To start with we suggest you keep overheads to a minimum by running your business from home. Once your business really takes off you may wish to relocate to commercial premises.
Can I start up a franchise as a partnership?
The system can be operated by one or two people. If operating on your own, you will probably need to look at promoting a staff member to a more managerial/supervisor role as you start to grow.
How do I attract employees?
Your employees will come from a number of resources such as newspaper ads and referrals from other employees. We will take you step by step through the advertising, interviewing and hiring process for new employees. We will also show you how using a bonus and incentive plan can help to retain good employees.
How can I get away on holiday?
We would recommend you have a holiday before your launch so you can devote your time fully to the business when it is launched. Once your business has been launched and you have decided you can afford to take a holiday, all calls can be diverted to our central call centre where appointments can be made, bookings taken and they will generally give you peace of mind during your break.
Will I be able to talk to existing Franchisees?
Of course, and we recommend that you do. We recommend that you talk to our operating franchisees to give you a clear picture of what you are buying into and whether this opportunity is right for you.
Can I continue with my job while the franchise gets going?
No. To give your business the best possible start you will need to commit yourself on a full time basis. The Myhome Lawn Cutting and Care franchise is not suited to a part-time franchise operation.
Do I have to live in the area I am considering for the franchise?
We would normally recommend you do. However if you choose an area within commuting distance from your home, this is of course possible, subject to you having a commercial base in the area.
How much of this total funding will I have to provide and how much could I borrow?
Depending on your status, funding can be arranged either directly with your bank or through our already agreed scheme. 50 – 70% should normally be available (Subject to status).
Do I need to be computer literate?
All of our systems and added software have been designed for ease of use and will be demonstrated to you at your training course. If you have not used a computer before, you would benefit from a short course beforehand.
Are my staff employed or self employed? I've never been in charge of employees and am concerned about the rules and regulations.
All staff members are fully employed by you. Recruitment, contracts and how to manage your staff will be dealt with on your training course. Guidance on all issues of personnel will be available.
Are the products and equipment we use safe?
All of our products and equipment have been chosen for effectiveness and safety. Full details will be provided in the Health and Safety aspect of your training..
Can I work from commercial premises straight away?
Yes of course, if this is your intention it will obviously avoid the need to move in your first year. We will need to include anticipated overhead costs into your business plan.
What type of support do you provide to me as a franchisee?
We supply ongoing technical and managerial support through our support team along with regular visits to our franchisees. We believe communication and advice is the key to successful franchising.
Is Myhome Lawn Cutting and Care a registered trade mark?
Yes Myhome Lawn Cutting and Care is a registered trademark with the patent office, giving us greater protection against copycat firms.
